Welcome to the Dalton Visitors Bureau!
Thank you for your interest in the beautiful city of Dalton, Georgia. We are very proud of our rich history and progress. In the 1700s, the Cherokee called it the “Enchanted Lands.” It is still enchanting today.
Take a few minutes to read about our history in the About Us section. You will be surprised at the important role Dalton played in the Trail of Tears, the Civil War and the establishment of the tufted carpet industry. Many of you may know Dalton as the “Carpet Capital of the World.” While that is certainly a title we are proud to claim, we are much more today. Carpet production has turned into flooring production with lines in hardwoods, vinyl and tile. We have a growing arts community and our location in the Georgia mountains makes us ideal for most outdoor activities.
We have a bustling downtown with numerous shops and eateries, each with it’s own unique charm, and more than 1,000 comfy beds waiting for you and your family. Because we are located around I-75, travel to Dalton is easy. But once you get here, you’ll want to stay a while, and we hope you do. Let us know how we can help you during your visit.
